Responsibilities:

Provide database administration for a variety of mission-critical custom and packaged software applications
Provide day-to-day support for iSeries
Design storage strategies around backup and recovery for complex database environments, physical structures, and specialized database applications
Partner with project teams and interact with enterprise DBAs to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed databases
Act as a liaison serving as primary point of contact between application development segments and database administrators
Administration of iSeries/DB2 distributed implementations, including database definition, structure, documentation and long-range requirements
Understand stored procedures, SQL, SQL queries and performance optimization
Understand and follow industry best practices and standards
Experienced in performance tuning and optimization analysis, troubleshooting practices and procedures
Provide standardization and consistency across environments
Ensure a stable and secure database environment
Implement and monitor database functionality to ensure stable environments
Knowledge of Oracle and/or MS SQL databases and willingness to support at the same level as iSeries.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
Solid experience with Oracle PL/SQL or MS SQL Server
Solid experience with Oracle DBA Version 11g+/ 12c
Experience with UNIX Scripting
Experience with data architecture (indexing, statistics, data structures, etc.)
Experience with user provisioning
Knowledge of automation concepts
Requires excellent planning, conceptual, consulting, analytical ability and logical thinking
Comfortable with multitasking and working in a matrix environment
Ability to work as part of a high performance team in a fast paced environment
Strong customer focus, continuous learning, strong technical aptitude, self-motivated
